FARGO, N.D. – Brandon Jones tied a club record in home runs, helping lift Kansas City to a 10-3 win over Fargo-Moorhead on Saturday night.

Jones, who hadn’t homered since joining the T-Bones on Aug. 14, led off the second inning with a home run off RedHawks starter Danny Gutierrez that gave Kansas City its initial lead but he wasn’t finished. After striking out in the third, Jones hit a two-run homer in the fifth that scored Jairo Perez, and gave the T-Bones a 4-2 lead. For good measure, with the T-Bones leading 5-3, Jones led off the seventh with another home run.

Kansas City starting pitcher Shaun Garceau (6-8) pitched seven solid innings and allowed only three runs and five hits while striking out four and walking one.

Garceau got plenty of support as the T-Bones offense pounded out 16 hits to go with their 10 runs. Jones, Luis Rivera and Anthony Davis each had three hits, while Joey Gathright and Perez had two apiece.

The man of the night, though, was Jones, who tied a Kansas City single-game record with his three home runs. It’s happened four other times, with Ryan Fox being the last one on Aug. 4, 2010 against Joliet.

Adding to his three home runs with Southern Maryland and nine with Amarillo earlier this season, Jones now has 15 in 2013. During his first tour with the T-Bones, 2005-06, Jones had 13 and 10 homers, respectively.

The T-Bones (38-54) and RedHawks (58-34) will conclude their three-game series on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
