A complete game from Kansas City T-Bones starter Lucas Irvine (5-4) extinguished the El Paso Diablos’ offense in a convincing 7-2 victory in front of 8,294 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Saturday night.

The third-largest T-Bones crowd this season saw a contest that was never in doubt for the home team. Kansas City scored four runs in the first against El Paso starter Justin Kuks (0-1), who entered the game without giving up an earned run. He gave up seven before leaving after four innings.

Petey Paramore was the star at the plate for Kansas City, collecting four RBIs on a pair of hits in the first and fourth innings. He finished a perfect three-for-three with a walk. Matt Padgett and Jairo Perez added an RBI apiece. Leadoff batter Kennard Jones scored twice and doubled once, going three for four.

Irvine gave up two El Paso runs (one earned) in the third, but retired 18 of the final 20 Diablos batters from the fourth inning on. Seven of his nine strikeouts came in the sixth inning or later.

“He was dominant tonight, as he has been throughout the season,” manager Kenny Hook said of Irvine. “He didn’t have command early but once he found it, the fastball was really explosive. A special thing about Irvine is that the hardest pitch he threw came in the ninth inning.”

Kansas City closes the series at home against El Paso at 1:05 Sunday afternoon. Tickets are available by calling the Providence Medical Center Box Office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark at 913-328-5618 or at tbonesbaseball.com.
