Sevier Loses First Game of the Season

06/05/2003 9:45 AM - (June 5, 2003) In Kansas City’s final game of its 13-game, season-opening road trip, the T-Bones fell 3-1 to the Saltdogs Thursday night in front of 3,504 fans at Haymarket Park. For Kansas City pitcher Nathan Sevier, it was his first loss of the season, now at 2-1. He allowed three runs and six hits in six innings. He also walked four and struck out six.

Last year, Sevier, 23, was 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA in four games for the Long Beach (California) Breakers in the independent Western League.

Lincoln swept the final game of the series behind the strong pitching of starter Derek Forbes, 2-0. Forbes threw seven innings, allowing just one run and three hits while walking two and striking out four.

Mick Pageler threw a perfect eighth inning for the Saltdogs.

T-Bones players Taber Maier, Ray Brown and Chad Ehrnsberger were responsible for the three hits. Ehrnsberger’s was a home run in the fifth inning.
