Are you ready to show you can be a pro baseball player? The Kansas City T-Bones will hold open tryouts for the 2013 season on Friday morning, May 3, at 9:00 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

“We’re always looking for ways to make our club better, and this is one way we can do that,” said T-Bones General Manager Chris Browne. “Because of the turnout we get each year, this is also a chance for some players to see how they stack up against some of the top, unsigned talent from the Midwest.”

Manager Kenny Hook and members of the T-Bones coaching staff will conduct the tryout. Pre-registration, which ends on Friday, is $85 per player. On-site registration, which begins at 8:00 a.m., on May 3, is $100 per player.

“Although I have some great contacts in terms of players and coaches in the Kansas City area, talented players always fall through the cracks, so this is a way for those guys to show us they have what it takes to be pro players,” Hook said. “Or, if a guy is a solid player but not necessarily a good fit for our club’s needs, we can refer them to other teams in the American Association.”

One of the players on last year’s T-Bones roster, Beau Stoker, signed after going through the open tryout. Other former T-Bones who joined the club after an open tryout include Kyle Dahman and Drew Graham.
