KANSAS CITY, Kan.-  Fargo-Moorhead hit four home runs against Kansas City starter Shaun Garceau, including two by Ryan Delgado, and showed why it’s the best team in the league with a 8-3 win on Friday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Garceau (8-6), who has been one of the top pitchers in the American Association, gave up eight hits and seven earned runs, including four home runs in front of the 5,255 spectators.

“Their hitters worked themselves into hitter’s counts,” said Frank White, who was the interim manager on Friday night as Kenny Hook finished serving a three-game suspension for bumping an umpire on Tuesday. “It’s hard to get behind good hitters and have to make a perfect pitch. Their hitters didn’t miss their pitches, and that made a big difference in the game.”

Fargo got on the board first when Jon Gaston led off the second inning with a home run.

Kansas City tied the game in the bottom of the inning on a one-out single by Devin Goodwin that scored Lee Cruz. That was the last time the game was tied. The RedHawks added runs in each of the next three innings.

Offensively, for a third straight game the T-Bones got at least 10 hits in the game – 10 to be exact on Friday – including a pair apiece for Justin Bass and Ray Sadler. But, unlike the previous two games, both 17-hit nights and wins over Sioux City, the T-Bones missed opportunities.

“Their pitchers did a good job with our batters, but our guys just didn’t get the big hits when we needed them, which has been a problem at home for about four or five games now,” said White
