When a player hits two home runs in a game, he can’t help but be pleased with his performance. Whenever a player hits two home runs in the same inning, he simply doesn’t want the inning to end.
That was the case for Wichita right fielder David Peralta as he belted two home runs in the sixth inning, a solo home run to lead off the inning and then a three-run shot off of newly acquired T-Bones righty Eric Schaler. Peralta’s two homers were a big part of an eight run sixth inning that gave the Wingnuts a 10-0 lead, as they cruised to an 11-6 victory. “Devin pitched well, except for the mistake to Peralta,” said T-Bones manager Kenny Hook. “If it hadn’t been for a couple of errors, we could’ve gotten out of that inning OK." In the bottom of the sixth, with no outs and the bases loaded, Kansas City’s Ray Sadler launched a Josh Lowey pitch out of the stadium in left field, giving the crowd of 4,441 a reason to cheer temporarily. Sadler, as well as Jose Duran, went 2-for-4 for the T-Bones. Wichita tacked on another run in the top of the ninth before Kansas City first baseman Kala Ka’aihue hit a two-run home run off of Robert Roth. The T-Bones (10-13) welcome the Newark Bears (9-14) to CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Monday for the start of a three-game series.
