The Kansas City T-Bones struggled to keep up with the offense of the New Jersey Jackals on Saturday night and lost 12-5, giving the Jackals a 2-1 edge in the four-game series.

New Jersey compiled 14 hits, including a four-hit night for Danny Santiesteban, who also had three runs batted in and scored two runs. The Jackals (2-1) scored in six of the nine innings.

The Jackals got on the board first with a two-run home run by Carlos Guzman in the second inning. Later in the inning, Santiesteban drove in Jeff Lanning, giving New Jersey a 3-0 lead.

The T-Bones (1-2) answered with two runs in the bottom of the second, but the Jackals added two runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings.

Kansas City starter Devin Anderson (0-1) went four innings, giving up nine hits and seven runs (four earned).

Offensively, the T-Bones were paced by Lee Cruz, who homered, doubled and singled, drove in two runs and scored two.
