Congratulations to former T-Bone Jacob Blackwood on winning the 2011 California League Championship with the Lake Elsinore Storm.

Blackwood opened the season with the Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Single-A Midwest League, batting .284/.330/.494 with nine home runs and 43 RBI in 71 games before earning a promotion to Advanced-A Lake Elsinore. The 2010 Northern League MVP struggled early with the Storm before rallying to finish with a .251/.306/.410 line. He hit eight home runs and drove in 33 in 60 games with Lake Elsinore.

Blackwood hit .289 with a home run and five RBI in the playoffs for the Storm as they won their third California League title. He drove in two runs in the decisive game four of the championship series, a 10-3 win over the Stockton Ports.

Lake Elsinore is currently an affiliate of the San Diego Padres, who selected Blackwood from the San Francisco Giants in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft last December.
