08/27/2011 9:14 PM -

The Kansas City T-Bones (47-50) saw their season-high five-game win streak end at the hands of the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (42-55) on Saturday night as they fell, 12-0, in game one of a four-game series at Newman Outdoor Field.

Fargo took a 1-0 lead against Devin Anderson (7-8) in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI single by Jesse Hoorelbeke. The RedHawks broke the game open in the fourth, scoring six runs on three hits and three T-Bone errors to gain a 7-0 advantage. Todd Jennings and Jonathan Wyatt each collected two-run singles while a two-out error by Jim Fasano allowed the final two runs to score.

Pinch-hitter Donald Blunt opened the eighth with a solo home run before Wyatt doubled to chase Anderson from the contest. Ben Baker took over for the left-hander and surrendered three hits and two walks in one-third of an inning before giving way to Drew Graham with the bases loaded. After a walk to his first batter forced in a run, Graham closed out the inning with a flyout and a groundout.

The RedHawks scored five runs on five hits in the eighth to make the final 12-0. Anderson was charged with nine runs, seven earned, on 12 hits over seven-plus innings in the loss.

Trevor Longfellow (2-2) was stellar for Fargo in the contest, holding the T-Bones to just six hits while walking two and striking out 11 over six shutout innings in the victory. Longfellow retired eight straight at one point and struck out four straight batters over the fifth and sixth innings.

Blunt’s home run was the first of his professional career.

Reid Santos (8-5, 4.94) takes the mound for Kansas City on Sunday afternoon opposite Jake Laber (9-7, 3.57) and the RedHawks in a battle of left-handers. First pitch is set for 1:00.
