The Kansas City T-Bones (39-44) dropped the final game of a four-game series to the Grand Prairie AirHogs (53-30), 8-3, in front of 6,115 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on Thursday night.

The AirHogs opened the scoring in the fourth off Trent Lare (3-4) with back-to-back home runs by Stephen Douglas and David Espinosa  to take a 2-0 lead. Kala Ka’aihue answered for the T-Bones with a solo home run off Frank Abbl in the bottom of the frame.

Abbl lasted four and one-thirds innings in his professional debut, allowing one run on three hits but did not factor in the decision.

Grand Prairie added two runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Espinosa and four runs in the sixth to chase Lare from the mound. A two-run home run from John Alonso highlighted sixth-inning attack.

Lare took the loss after allowing eight runs, five earned, on seven hits over five and two-thirds innings of work. Drew Graham finished the sixth for Lare and added a scoreless seventh. Matt Mitchell and Kyle Dahman each threw scoreless eighth and ninth innings respectively to close out the game for Kansas City.

Kansas City picked up a single tally in the seventh off Bo Schultz (3-3). Schultz allowed the lone run on two hits over two and two-thirds innings of relief to earn the victory for the AirHogs.

The T-Bones capped the score at 8-3 with a solo home run by Aharon Eggleston in the bottom of the eighth.
