The Kansas City T-Bones (18-27) lost the rubber match of their three-game series to the Winnipeg Goldeyes (27-18), 6-3, with 9,650 fans on hand Thursday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The Goldeyes collected three runs in the first inning off Matt Mitchell (1-2) with a two-run double by Wes Long and a sacrifice fly by Jon Weber. Keanon Simon opened the bottom of the frame with a solo home run off Ace Walker (4-3) and was followed by a two-run home run by Rico Washington to tie the score at three.

That was all the offense the T-Bones would muster as they collected just four hits over the final eight innings. Walker earned the win for the Goldeyes after allowing three runs on five hits in five innings.

The score remained until the top of the fourth when Luis Alen hit a solo home run and Louis Ott added a two-run shot to cap the score at 6-3.

Mitchell left with two outs in the fifth inning and suffered the loss after allowing six runs on seven hits. Kyle Dahman added one and two-thirds innings of relief before Kevin Light got the final two outs to finish the seventh. Drew Graham added two scoreless innings to finish the game for Kansas City.

Ian Thomas picked up his first save of the season after striking out two of the three batters he faced in the bottom of the ninth.

The Kansas City T-Bones now head to Wichita for a two-game road trip with a series against the Wingnuts beginning Friday night. First pitch of game one is set for 7:05. To catch all the action while the team is on the road, listen live on KUDL Radio Bach 1660 AM or online at www.tbonesbaseball.com.
