Kaaihues Blast Caps Off 11-Inning Victory Over Goldeyes06/28/2011 11:01 PM - Kala Ka’aihue connected for a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to send the Kansas City T-Bones (18-25) home with an 8-7 victory over the Winnipeg Goldeyes (25-18) in front of 5,016 fans on Tuesday night. The T-Bones later tied the game with a two-run seventh and took a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the eighth. The Goldeyes collected two runs in the top of the ninth against closer Andy Shipman (1-2), including a go-ahead solo blast by Myrow that re-claimed the lead for Winnipeg. Shipman suffered his third blown save of the season, but held on for the victory after allowing two runs on three hits while striking out four in three innings of relief. Kansas City tied the game at seven in the bottom of the ninth when Mojica opened the frame with a triple and scored on an RBI double by Rico Washington. Mojica fell a home run shy of the cycle, going three-for-five with an RBI in the contest. He was hit by a pitch in the 10th inning, pushing his season total to a team record-tying 14. He also committed a team record five errors in the game. Washington went two-for-five with two doubles and two RBI to extend his hit streak to 11 games. He has now driven in at least one run in six straight contests. The two teams prepare for a day game tomorrow with first pitch set for 11:05. Kansas City will send Devin Anderson (3-5, 5.76) to face former T-Bone Luis Villarreal (4-0, 1.90) in a battle of left-handers.
