The Winnipeg Goldeyes (15-14) erased a four-run deficit in the seventh inning, but Rico Washington (pictured) used an RBI single in the ninth to lead the Kansas City T-Bones (13-15) to a 5-4 win as they secured their third straight series victory on Saturday night in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.

Keanon Simon began the game with a triple against Isaac Hess and scored on a single by Jimmy Mojica to give Kansas City a 1-0 lead in the first inning. After adding a single tally in the second, the T-Bones gained a three-run advantage in the fourth on a solo home run by Ray Sadler, his sixth of the season.

Hess left after six innings having allowed three runs on five hits, but would not factor into the decision.

An RBI single by Fernando Garcia scored Brian Joynt in the seventh to give Kansas City a 4-0 lead.

Kris Johnson, who signed with the T-Bones just hours before the game, held Winnipeg scoreless through six innings before walking Louis Ott to begin the bottom of the seventh. Johnson surrendered just four hits in his outing before giving way to Trent Lare after the free pass with Kansas City ahead, 4-0.
 
The Goldeyes loaded the bases against Lare with a walk and an error by Garcia. Price Kendall followed and was hit by the first pitch of his at bat to force in the first Winnipeg run of the contest. Cole Lohden (1-0) entered and allowed the second run to score on a groundout before surrendering a two-run single to Wes Long that tied the game at four.

Lohden finished the seventh and added a scoreless eighth to earn his first win of the season. Johnson was charged with one run while Lare was tagged with three runs, two earned, without allowing a hit.

Garcia opened the ninth inning against Jamie Vermilyea (1-1) with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Simon. Washington followed two batters later to reclaim the lead for Kansas City, 5-4.

Vermilyea took the loss after allowing one run on two hits in an inning of work. Andy Shipman surrendered two two-out hits in the bottom of the ninth, but closed out the game with a strikeout of Justin Bass to earn his seventh save. He has now converted six straight save opportunities, all coming within an eight-day span.

Kansas City goes for their first-ever road sweep of the Goldeyes tomorrow afternoon as they send right-hander Kyle Dahman (0-0, 3.15) to face veteran left-hander and former T-Bone Luis Villarreal (1-0, 1.29).
