The Kansas City T-Bones (11-15) won the rubber match of a three-game series against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (14-12), 5-2, in front of 6,769 fans Thursday afternoon at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Fargo took a 1-0 lead against T.J. Large in the top of the second on an RBI single by Kole Zimmerman. Jimmy Mojica coaxed a one-out walk from Jake Laber (3-1) in the fourth and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Ray Sadler to tie the game at one for Kansas City.

The score remained the same until the top of the seventh when Fargo took a 2-1 lead on Zimmerman’s second RBI single of the game. Large left after walking Jim Fasano with one out in the inning, giving way to Steven Stewart (2-0, pictured) who surrendered the go-ahead hit.

Large allowed two runs on two hits over six and one-thirds innings but did not factor into the decision. Stewart got the final two outs in the seventh and added a scoreless eighth en route to his second win of the season.

The T-Bones answered immediately with three runs in the bottom of the seventh, the first coming on an RBI double by Aharon Eggleston that tied the game at two. Fernando Garcia added a two-run single later in the frame to give Kansas City a 4-2 lead.

Laber suffered the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits in seven innings of work.

Sadler drove in the final run with a single in the eighth to cap the score at 5-2. Andy Shipman earned his fifth save with a scoreless ninth, striking out two of the four batters he faced.
