The Kansas City T-Bones (10-14) won the first game of a three-game series against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (13-11), 6-4, on Tuesday night in front of 5,208 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The RedHawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third against Kyle Dahman (pictured) with back-to-back RBI singles by Zach Penprase and Nic Jackson. Kansas City battled back in the fourth, scoring two runs off Scott Fogelson (2-2) to tie the game. Ray Sadler drove in the first run with an RBI triple and later scored on a single by Aharon Eggleston.

Dahman left after five innings having allowed two runs on four hits. He did not factor into the decision.

Fargo took a 3-2 lead against reliever Trent Lare (1-2) on a sacrifice fly by Carlo Cota in the top of the sixth. The T-Bones immediately answered with four runs in the bottom of the inning, scoring the first on a solo home run by Rico Washington that tied the game at three. Casey Hoorelbeke took over for Fogelson with two on and one out, allowing the go-ahead run to score on a wild pitch. Johnny Bowden then capped off the inning with a two-run single to give the T-Bones a 6-3 advantage.

Penprase homered with two outs in the top of the seventh to make the final 6-4. Fogelson took the loss after allowing five runs, three earned, on six hits over five and one-thirds innings. Lare picked up the victory with two runs on three hits in two innings of relief.

Steven Stewart held Fargo without a run in the eighth and Andy Shipman threw a scoreless ninth to earn his fourth save of the season. Shipman has earned a save in three straight games.

The two teams face off again Wednesday night as left-hander Devin Anderson (2-2, 5.57) takes the mound for Kansas City against right-hander Oliver Odle (2-3, 4.28) and the RedHawks. First pitch is set for 7:05. Call 913-328-5618 or visit www.tbonesbaseball.com to secure your seats today!
