AirHogs Complete Four-Game Sweep of Kansas City

The Grand Prairie AirHogs (15-5) finished off a four-game sweep of the Kansas City T-Bones (7-13) with a 10-4 victory on Thursday afternoon at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

With 3,192 on hand, Ryne Reynoso (2-2) surrendered an RBI single to John Alonso in the first inning to give the AirHogs a 1-0 advantage. After a quick out to start the second, the next seven batters all reached and scored as Grand Prairie took an 8-0 lead. Greg Porter drove in three of the runs with a home run, his second of the year.

Reynoso suffered the loss after allowing eight runs on eight hits in two innings of work.

The T-Bones struck for two runs against John Brownell (4-0) in the bottom of the third with a two run home run by Ray Sadler. Brownell was touched for three runs on six hits over seven and one-thirds innings in the victory.

Stewart relieved Reynoso, throwing four and two-thirds innings for Kansas City. The right-hander surrendered two runs on two hits and one error in the seventh before giving way to Aaron Cook. Cook got the final out in the seventh and added a scoreless eighth. Andy Shipman finished the game for the T-Bones with a scoreless ninth.

Dwayne White singled home the final T-Bones run in the bottom of the ninth, capping the score at 10-4.  He finished two-for-four with an RBI to pace Kansas City’s offense.

Kansas City now heads to Wichita for a quick three-game series against the Wingnuts beginning Friday night. The first pitch is set for 7:05. The T-Bones return home on Tuesday, June 7 for a three-game homestand against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks.
