06/22/2004 3:01 PM - June 22, 2004

The Kansas City T-Bones (11-20) return to CommunityAmerica Ballpark to open a seven-game home stand Wednesday night. The T-Bones will begin with a four-game series against Sioux Falls (10-20) Wednesday night at 7:05 before hosting Joliet (15-16) in a three-game set starting Monday. The home stand is the longest one of the month and the fourth longest of the season.

Wednesday night's game represents the first meeting of the season between the T-Bones and the North Division’s Canaries. Sioux Falls comes to town riding a two-game losing streak after spliting a four-game series at Gary last weekend. Canaries infielder Ron Wright was named the Rawlings/Daktronics Player of the Week Monday after batting a league-best .440 (11-for-25) with a pair of home runs and 10 RBI in six games.

Kansas City designated hitter Eddie Pearson is currently one of the hottest hitters in the league. The reigning Northern League MVP is batting .419 (31-for-74) with a pair of home runs, including his second grandslam of the year, and 21 RBI in the month of June. His .372 batting average is currently the fourth highest mark in the NL. He is also among the league leaders in five other offensive categories.

The T-Bones will continue their home stand Monday with a three-game series against Joliet. The Jackhammers swept Kansas City in a four-game series at Joliet from June 6th to the 9th.
