Triple-A Hurler Joins T-Bones Rotation

04/18/2011 8:38 AM -

The Kansas City T-Bones and manager Tim Doherty have announced that pitcher Ryne Reynoso has been signed to a contract for the 2011 season.

Reynoso, 26, was originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 26th round of the 2006 amateur draft. The right-hander spent parts of four seasons in the Braves organization before signing with the Boston Red Sox as a minor league free agent last summer. While with the Braves, Reynoso advanced as high as Triple-A on two occasions.

Reynoso played primarily as an outfielder for Boston College before being drafted as a pitcher by Atlanta. His most impressive season to date came with Double-A Mississippi in 2009 when he posted a 3.47 ERA in 148 innings while surrendering just 127 hits in that span. Reynoso enters the 2011 season with a 3.66 ERA over 438 career innings.

The T-Bones begin their 2011 campaign against the El Paso Diablos in El Paso, TX on May 12 and will host the Gary SouthShore RailCats in their home opener on May 17.
