T-Bones Add Another All-Star to 2011 Roster

The Kansas City T-Bones and manager Tim Doherty have announced that all-star outfielder Brian Joynt will return for the 2011 season.

Joynt, 26, appeared in 92 games for the T-Bones in 2010, hitting .283/.345/.478 with 15 home runs and 43 RBI. He was named to the 2010 Northern League All-Star Team after batting .313/.369/.581 in his first 41 games, and spent most of the season near the top of the league leaders in average and total bases. On June 1, Joynt set a T-Bones record for doubles in a game with four, a number that also matched the team record for extra-base hits in a contest.

Joynt was originally selected in the 29th round of the 2007 amateur draft by the San Diego Padres and began his professional career with their rookie-level affiliate in the Arizona League. He advanced as high as Double-A San Antonio with the Padres in 2009 before signing as a free agent with Kansas City on March 5, 2010.

The T-Bones begin their 2011 campaign against the El Paso Diablos in El Paso, TX on May 12 and will host the Gary SouthShore RailCats in their home opener on May 17.
