Saltdogs Outslug T-Bones, 8-4

05/21/2004 2:38 PM - Last night, the Kansas City T-Bones won big with the home run. Tonight, it was the Lincoln Saltdogs using the longball to their benefit, defeating the T-Bones 8-4 in front of 5,215 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The T-Bones went down early when JuJu Foreman, who had walked and stolen second, scored on a double by Jorge Moreno. Moreno came home two batters later when Charles Peterson socked his first homer of the season against T-Bones starter Jayson Sigley.

Kansas City went down 5-0 in the top of the third when Sigley surrendered solo shots to Bryan Warner and Josh Patton.

The T-Bones came back with two in their half of the third on a two-run shot by Ray Brown, his first of the season.

Lincoln increased their lead to four in the top of the fifth when Bryan Warner cranked his second solo shot of the game against Sigley to make it 6-2.

The T-Bones socked their second homer in the bottom of the eighth to make it 6-3, a Chad Shindle solo job, but that was as close as they would get as Charles Peterson smacked his second homer of the game, another two-run shot off reliever Clint Marcus, to extend the lead to 8-3.

The final margin came on a Phil Thompson triple in the ninth that plated Cody Nowlin.

Thomas Ford (5 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 3 K) picked up the win for Lincoln while Jayson Sigley, who allowed 4 HR, took the loss.
