T-Bones Swap Eggleston for Cruse

The Kansas City T-Bones have agreed to send outfielder Aharon Eggleston to the Winnipeg Goldeyes in exchange for right-handed pitcher Andrew Cruse and a player to be named.

Cruse, 25, joins Kansas City after a strong 2009 campaign with the Goldeyes.  The right-hander went 5-5 in 25 games, 18 starts, with Winnipeg while posting a 4.58 ERA in 114 innings.  It was his first season in independent baseball, following three years in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.  Cruse was originally drafted out of the University of South Carolina in the ninth round by Philadelphia in the 2006 amateur draft.

Eggleston leaves Kansas City after spending three seasons with the T-Bones in which he posted a .324 average.  He began his professional career with the Edmonton Cracker-Cats.

“It’s hard to let a player like Aharon go, but we are getting a quality right-hander in return,” said T-Bones manager Tim Doherty.  “We see this as a deal that will work out well for both teams.”

The T-Bones begin their 2010 campaign in Gary, Ind. on May 20 and will host the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in their home opener on May 28.  Season ticket packages and mini plans are available now by calling 913-328-5618.  For information on group outings, call 913-328-5628.  Single game tickets will go on sale in 2010.  Visit www.tbonesbaseball.com to stay up-to-date throughout the year.
