Eggleston Selected as Post-Season All-Star09/03/2009 1:19 PM - The Northern League has announced that Kansas City T-Bones outfielder Aharon Eggleston has been named to the 2009 Post-Season All-Star Team as voted on by select league personnel and players. This marks the second straight season that Eggleston, 28, has earned the honor. The T-Bones centerfielder finished the regular-season with a .318/.375/.406 line, good for fifth in the league in batting average. He also tied Fargo’s Jeremiah Piepkorn for the league lead in hits (123). Eggleston started the season with multi-hit games in seven of his first nine starts, including six straight from May 17-26. After batting .383 in May, he struggled to a .188 average in June, pushing his batting average down to a season-low .260 on June 28. Beginning with a two-for-four night on June 29, Eggleston rebounded with a .356 mark over his final 54 games to push his way back up the leaderboard. During that final stretch, Eggleston posted a 38 game on-base streak that included an 18-game hit streak from July 15 – August 3. His on-base streak was the second-longest in the league this season. He finished the year with at least one hit in each of his last 24 home games. Eggleston originally joined the T-Bones as a free agent in 2007 and has hit .324 over his 277 regular-season games with Kansas City. |
