08/20/2009 9:38 PM -

Leadoff hitter Aharon Eggleston collected four hits for the Kansas City T-Bones (39-46) as they defeated the Joliet JackHammers (30-55), 11-2, in the first game of a four-game set at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The T-Bones thrilled a crowd of 4,152 with a three-run first inning against Jason Novak (2-5), plating their first two runs on a single by Craig Hurba.  The next batter, Neb Brown, drove in the third run with a single of his own to give Kansas City an early advantage.

Newcomer Luis Terrero pushed the T-Bones lead to 4-0 with a solo home run in the third inning.  Novak lasted five frames for Joliet, allowing four runs on six hits in the loss.

The JackHammers plated their first run off Cody McAllister (7-4) in the fourth when Kevin Rios tripled and scored on a single by Freddie Thon.  McAllister allowed a walk and a single to begin the seventh before leaving in favor of Justin James.  A wild pitch three batters later scored the final run for Joliet.

McAllister was charged with two runs on five hits in six-plus innings in the victory.

Kansas City took an 8-1 lead with a four-run sixth inning that featured an RBI single by Eggleston and a three-run home run by Damian Rolls, his 14th of the season.  Brown singled home the T-Bones ninth run in the seventh before a two-run shot by Eggleston capped off the scoring in the eighth at 11-2.

Eggleston finished four-for-five with a home run, stolen base and three RBI to extend his home hit streak to 21 games.  James threw one and two-thirds scoreless innings before Payton Tweddale finished the contest with one and one-thirds scoreless frames.

Dustin Bolton (5-5, 5.36) looks for a victory in game two tomorrow night opposite Devin Anderson (1-3, 5.71) and the JackHammers.  First pitch is set for 7:05.  Tomorrow is Star Wars Night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark where anyone dressed in Star Wars gear will receive half-price KCI High-Fly Zone Bleacher Reserved tickets.  Also, for the remainder of the homestand, all small domestic draft beers are just $2.  For more information, call 913-328-5618 or visit www.tbonesbaseball.com
