In front of 4,409 fans, Aharon Eggleston quickly extended his on-base streak to 36 games with a single off Garret Holleran in the T-Bones first at-bat of the game.  He moved to third when Damian Rolls singled before both runners scored on a three-run home run by Greg Jacobs (pictured), giving Kansas City an early 3-0 advantage.

Gary answered in the third, scoring two runs off Chris Rhoads on a triple by Steve Haake to bring the RailCats within one.

The T-Bones extended their lead to 6-2 in the fourth when Neb Brown singled to start their half of the frame.  He was pushed to second on a basehit by Jacob Blackwood, and both runners scored on Ryan Fox’s 21st home run of the season.

Gary plated three runs on four hits and a walk in the fifth, chasing Rhoads from the game with two on and two out.  Justin James entered and surrendered a triple to Jordan Czarniecki, pushing the score to 7-6.  Rhoads was charged with seven runs after allowing nine hits in four and two-thirds innings.  Holleran left after five, surrendering six runs on eight hits in five innings.  Neither starter factored into the decision.

Grant Johnson issued back-to-back walks to Rolls and Jacobs with one out in the seventh before Rolls scored on an RBI single by Brown.  Jacobs went to third on the play and gave the T-Bones an 8-7 lead on an RBI single by Blackwood.

The RailCats responded in the eighth when Rob Marconi singled off Daniel Sattler (3-3) with one out and scored on an RBI triple by Chris Carrara.  A single by Pecci plated Carrara, giving the Gary a 9-8 lead.
