02/25/2005 7:33 AM - Mason Edward Smith was born at 7:53 pm (rain delayed slightly from anticipated 7:05 pm start time) on February 24, 2005. He arrived at 8 lbs, 3 oz., and is slightly shorter than his father at 20 1/4". (Brandon is 6'6" for those who have never seen him.)

According to Brandon, Mason is doing well in spite of arriving two weeks early! T-Bones Manager "Dirty" Al Gallagher has already offered the youngster a contract for the 2026 season, stating "This boy's got quite a baseball pedigree, as both his parents played at KU. If we can teach him how to hit the curveball, he'll set some home run records."
