Pete Rose to Appear at CommunityAmerica Ballpark

04/13/2004 9:37 AM - Baseball’s all-time hit leader, Pete Rose, will appear at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on May 24, 2004, when the Kansas City T-Bones take on the Schaumburg Flyers. Rose, who played in the major leagues for twenty-four seasons, will be present at the game for its entirety.

Rose is a big supporter of the Northern League, as his son Pete Jr. has played in the league for parts of the last two seasons.

“This is our chance to let the baseball fans of Kansas City come to see Pete Rose,” said T-Bones General Manager Rick Muntean. “In his career as a player, Pete exemplified the characteristics of hard work and hustle and always made the most of his talent.”

Rose will be in a T-Bones uniform and will be on the field for the early portion of the game. A press conference will be announced at a date closer to the event. Members of the media may contact Loren Foxx at 913/328-5639 or Lesley Stipetic at 913/328-5633 or check the T-Bones web site at www.tbonesbaseball.com for further information.

As there are only 4,365 seats at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, it is recommended that fans purchase tickets early; tickets went on sale to Wyandotte County residents on April 10th and go on sale to the general public on April 17th. As well, a handful of tickets will be held back and earmarked as prizes for fans attending the games of May 21-23.

Tickets may be purchased in the following manners: in person at the T-Bones ticket office at CommunityAmerica Ballpark; over the telephone using a credit card; starting Saturday at CommunityAmerica Credit Union branches; and, starting Monday, online at www.tbonesbaseball.com.
