T-Bones Present Check to Komen

12/01/2008 12:25 PM -
The T-Bones proudly presented a check for $3,179 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure of Greater Kansas City foundation. The money was raised from the breast cancer awareness jersey auction sponsored by the Kansas City Cancer Center, ticket sales from that night, and special breast cancer awareness merchandise sales.
“On behalf of the T-Bones staff and players we’re happy to help with this great cause,” said T-Bones general manager Chris Browne. “We hope that we can continue to increase awareness in the foundation for the future.”
Sizzle and other members of the T-Bones front office staff were on hand to present the check to Tammy Butterfield of Komen earlier this morning at their Kansas City office in downtown Kansas City, MO. The T-Bones have made a donation to the cause for each of the past two seasons and are currently planning breast cancer awareness night for the 2009 season.
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation is a national not for profit organization aimed at raising awareness for breast cancer and early detection. More information can be found on their website www.komenkansascity.org.
