A Salute to the Veterans11/11/2008 9:00 AM - On Veterans Day, the T-Bones organization would like to express our appreciation for our service men and women who are currently serving and who have served our country so well.
It is because of these dedicated professionals that we are able to enjoy our freedoms. The hard work and dedication of these individuals are the reasons that we, as American citizens, can indulge in our many pleasures, including sporting events like professional baseball and soccer.
In our busy lives, it is far too easy to forget about the struggles that our brothers and sisters are going through every day at home and abroad.
On this Veterans Day, we ask that you please take a moment to think about the sacrifices that are made by our military men and women currently serving, those who have served many causes in the past, and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Every year the T-Bones make serious efforts to honor these military personnel with events such as Heroes Nights. On these nights, we are privileged to have men and women of the armed forces parade on the field and hear our gratitude.
T-Bones owner, John Ehlert, commented that "The military nights are my favorites at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. The pride of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard swells in the personnel on the field, and the cheers from our good fans causes my heart to swell with appreciation and pride."
