Meet Michaela McCann, Sales Executive

11/07/2008 10:09 AM -
Michaela is one of the T-Bones newest employees. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in Sport and Fitness Management. She interned this past summer with the promotions department before getting signed as a free agent by the sales team where she now serves as an account executive.
“It was very fast paced so you had to learn quickly,” said McCann about her internship. “We all worked really well together, learned a lot and had a lot of fun along the way.”
“Michaela was a priceless contribution to the promotions department during the 2008 season,” said promotions director Colin Aldrich. “She expressed her creativity and knack for leadership throughout the summer beginning early on with staff, interns and our fans. She took the bull by the horns and really excelled as I’m sure she will in her new capacity. Michaela, in her upbringing, must have developed an anxiety of dirt and rain and we are yet to see her take part in a tarp pull during her time with the T-Bones.”
Michaela is facing a new challenge working in sales but is excited about the opportunities that the new job presents.
“There is an ongoing learning process with it as there is any new job,” said Michaela. “I’ve enjoyed the challenges so far and I look forward to the success that will come as a result of what I’m learning now.”
Growing up in Leavenworth she played tennis and soccer at Leavenworth High School. Michaela admits her lack of talent in the sport of soccer but says her spirit made her a valuable asset to the team, for which she was recognized at a post season banquet, adding nothing she did on the field was deserving of recognition. Tennis however was a different story, she was captain of the tennis team at LHS. She still plays on occasion to help her stay in shape. Also while at LHS she was influential in starting a class that is still offered today. It raises money for school events and helps to build pride in the community.
“Growing up in Leavenworth was a lot of fun,” said Michaela. “It is close enough to the city where you always had things to do, but it still had all the charm of a small town.”
