Championship Series Continues Tonight, T-Bones Face 1-0 Deficit

09/10/2008 8:46 AM -
Back in August the RailCats won the first two games of a five-game set before the T-Bones rallied back to take the final three games and the series three games-to-two. The T-Bones are hoping for similar luck in the Northern League Championship Series.

Kansas City fell last night to the RailCats 7-6 in game one. Despite getting to RailCat starter Jeremy Plexico early, the T-Bones still couldn’t muster enough offense to counter Cristian Guerrero’s two home runs. The T-Bones got a couple of their own, the first a three-run shot from Jim Fasano in the first put the T-Bones up 3-0 then later Neb Brown homered the to opposite field, for both it was their first postseason home run in ’08.

Tonight the T-Bones will send right hander Chris Rhoads to the mound to oppose veteran lefty and former Major Leaguer Tony Cogan. Cogan was dominate all season against the T-Bones allowing runs in only one of his four starts against the T-Bones this season. He was 2-0 with a 0.65 ERA against K.C.

Chris Rhoads was dominate for the T-Bones down the stretch and pitched a gem against the RedHawks in game two of the first round series. The T-Bones will look for him to make a repeat performance tonight as he duels Cogan.

Tonight is the last game T-Bones game that will be played at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in 2008 and tickets are still availale. All seating for tonight’s game is general admission seating and tickets are only $8. You can purchase tickets now by calling the T-Bones box office at (913) 328-BALL (2255).
