Teams Off, Preparing For Championship Series

09/08/2008 11:05 AM -
Both the T-Bones and the Gary SouthShore RailCats are off today preparing to square off against each other to open the 2008 Northern League Championship Series in Kansas City tomorrow.

The T-Bones are coming off a sweep over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, the team that owned the Northern League’s best record during the regular season. The RailCats took four games to top the Winnipeg Goldeyes, beating the fish on their home turf on Saturday.

The T-Bones will be playing for their first Northern League Championship in the team’s six-year history taking manager Andy McCauley just two seasons to get his team playing for the title. The franchise won a championship while playing as the Duluth-Superior Dukes back in 1997. Meanwhile, the RailCats are the defending Northern League Champions. They are looking for their title in the last four years under manager Greg Taggert.

The series begins at 7:05 tomorrow night with tickets still available by calling the T-Bones box office at (913) 328-BALL (2255).  You can also purchase tickets online by clicking here.
