KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and Kansas City T-Bones combined to score 25 runs and knock out 39 hits tonight as Kansas City fell 15-10 in front of 8,506 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

A day after clinching the fourth and final playoff spot in the Northern League, Kansas City answered a one-run first inning from Fargo to plate two tallies on a two-out double from Ken Harvey off Mike Peschel.  The RedHawks responded with single tallies in each of the next two innings against Todd Moser to retake the lead, 3-2.

Moser left after three innings having surrendered three runs, two earned, on seven hits in a no-decision.

Fargo added another run off Payton Tweddale in the fourth on a leadoff home run by Jeremiah Piepkorn.  Kansas City responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning, chasing Peschel after a two-run single from Steve
Trout and RBI triple by John Martin gave the T-Bones a 5-4 advantage.

Peschel allowed five runs on 11 hits over his four and two-thirds innings of work.  He did not factor into the decision.

The RedHawks picked up two runs in the top of the fifth to pull ahead again before Kansas City used a solo home run by Geoff McCallum against Adam Rowe to even the game at six.  Neither team scored in the seventh with Kansas City getting a scoreless frame from Brady Martinez.  Fargo then picked up two tallies on a home run by Piepkorn in the eighth off Rob Watson, his second of the contest.  Kansas City responded with solo shots from Greg Jacobs and Aharon Eggleston to even the game, 8-8.

David Trahan entered for Kansas City in the ninth and surrendered seven runs on six hits, four scoring on a grand slam by Steve Mortimer.  The T-Bones picked up two runs in the bottom of the frame against Scott Koerber on a double from Harvey to cap the score at 15-8.

Kansas City now prepares for their final regular season game of 2008 tomorrow afternoon before hosting the first two games of a best-of-five series against Fargo to start the Northern League playoffs on Tuesday.  Rick DeHart will make the start for Kansas City tomorrow opposite Nick Hetland for the RedHawks.  First pitch tomorrow afternoon is set for 1:05.
