KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones won their third straight against the Gary SouthShore RailCats tonight, 13-6, to take a five-game series over the defending champions at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

With 3,559 on hand, the RailCats kicked off the scoring with a four-run third inning against Anthony Snow thanks to a grand slam by Tanner Townsend.  Gary added two more runs in the fourth on a solo shot by Steve Haake and sacrifice fly from Eric McNamee to gain a 6-0 advantage.

Snow left with two outs in the sixth having allowed six runs on seven hits while striking out six and walking two.  Brady Martinez entered for Kansas City and struck out Rob Marconi to end the frame.

Brian Forystek allowed just one infield single over his first four innings for Gary before surrendering five runs on four hits to 10 T-Bones hitters in the fifth.  Two straight RBI singles from Bo Hart and Greg Jacobs (pictured) plated the first two tallies before a two-run single by Craig Hurba pulled Kansas City within two.  Jim Fasano capped off the inning with a sacrifice fly to push the score to 6-5.

Forystek left with two outs in the inning.  He surrendered five runs on five hits while striking out five and walking four in his outing.  Neither starter factored into the decision.

Brian Halford got the final out in the fifth for the RailCats and surrendered a leadoff double to Geoff McCallum to begin the sixth.  McCallum later scored on a single by Jacobs to tie the game at six.

Brady Martinez threw a scoreless seventh for Kansas City, allowing one baserunner on an infield single to third.  He improved to 4-1 on the season.

The T-Bones took their only lead of the game with another five-run inning in the bottom of the seventh, plating their first run on a bases-loaded walk by Aharon Eggleston.  After the next batter, Hart, was hit by a pitch to force in the second tally, Jacobs cleared the bases with a double to give the T-Bones an 11-6 advantage.

Eddie De La Cruz got the final two outs in the sixth before surrendering two hits over three batters in the seventh.  Aaron Cook faced the final seven batters in the frame.  De La Cruz was charged with two of the runs in the inning as he suffered his first loss of the campaign.

Bo Hart capped off the T-Bones scoring with a two-run single in the eighth to push the final to 13-6.  Hart finished two-for-four with four RBI.  Jacobs finished three-for-five with a double and five RBI.

Kansas City now heads to Fargo for a quick two-game set against the RedHawks to begin a five-game road trip.  First pitch tomorrow night is set for 7:00 at Newman Outdoor Field.
