SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – The Kansas City T-Bones rode a solid performance from Kenny Durost (pictured) as they snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the Schaumburg Flyers this afternoon at Alexian Field.

Aharon Eggleston began the contest with a leadoff double against Justin Jordan and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from Bo Hart.  He would score when leftfielder Jermaine Allensworth dropped a short fly ball by Greg Jacobs to give the T-Bones an early 1-0 advantage.

Kansas City got their second run when a sacrifice fly from John Martin plated Neb Brown in the second.  Their final tally came on an RBI single from Craig Hurba in the third, giving starter Durost a 3-0 cushion.  Jordan left after six innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on eight hits as he suffered the loss.

Durost held the Flyers scoreless over six innings, holding them to just two hits in that span.  The right-hander allowed three hits in the seventh, surrendering his lone run on an RBI single by Allensworth.  He finished the seventh for Kansas City, allowing just the one run on five hits while striking out four and walking five in the victory.

Payton Tweddale entered for Durost in the eighth and sandwiched a walk between two strikeouts before surrendering a single to Lance Koenig.  The next batter, Hank Lanto, singled as well to drive in Peanut Williams to bring Schaumburg within one.  Mark Haske then grounded out to end the inning with runners on the corners.

After a dropped popup by Williams extended the ninth for Kansas City, Hurba singled home his second run of the game for an unearned insurance run off David Byard to give the T-Bones a 4-2 lead.

David Trahan walked one in a scoreless ninth as he earned his 17th save of the season.

The two teams prepare for the rubber match of their three-game set tomorrow night as Chris Rhoads takes the hill for the T-Bones opposite Steve Shippey.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
