SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – The third run Peanut Williams scored for the Schaumburg Flyers tonight capped off an 11-inning contest as the Kansas City T-Bones fell 6-5 at Alexian Field in Schaumburg, Ill.

Schaumburg used three runs on four hits in the second inning to take an early lead against Anthony Boughner, plating the first of those runs on a leadoff home run from Williams.  An RBI single by Wilson Matos and sacrifice fly from Jermaine Allensworth rounded out the scoring.  The Flyers added another tally in the third on an RBI single by Julius Thames to pull ahead 4-0.

Kansas City began to rally in the fourth against Alex Rollin with a two-run single from Bo Hart to pull within two.  After going down in order in the fifth, the T-Bones got a two-out triple from Geoff McCallum before Aharon Eggleston pushed the score to 4-3 with an RBI single.

Boughner allowed four runs on eight hits over five innings before giving way to Brady Martinez (pictured) in the sixth.  The Flyers loaded the bases against Martinez with a hit batter, error and intentional walk before plating an unearned run on a fielder’s choice from Thames.  It was all Martinez would allow over two and one-thirds innings of relief.

Solo home runs from Greg Jacobs and Jim Fasano off Rollin in the seventh evened the score at five.  Rollin surrendered five runs on seven hits over seven innings of work.  Neither starter factored into the decision.

Jim Popp threw a scoreless eighth for the Flyers.  Payton Tweddale and Andy Shipman combined to get the last two outs for Martinez in the bottom of the frame.  Shipman remained in over the next two innings, leaving in favor of Todd Moser with two outs in the 10th.

Moser induced a groundout to end the 10th before taking a line drive single from Williams off his foot to begin the 11th.  Williams moved to second on the play on a throwing error by Neb Brown.  Moser was replaced by David Trahan after leaving with an apparent injury.  After a sacrifice bunt from Thames sent Williams to third, Rob Fischer drove in Williams with a sacrifice fly for the winning run.

Moser suffered the loss after allowing one unearned run on one hit.  Mark Goodman threw a scoreless 11th for Schaumburg to earn the victory.  Williams finished the game four-for-four two walks, one intentional, as he fell a triple short of the cycle.  He scored three times in the contest.

The two teams face off tomorrow afternoon as Kenny Durost takes the mound for Kansas City against Justin Jordan for the Flyers.  First pitch is scheduled for 12:05.
