KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Gary SouthShore RailCats continued to pound out hits tonight as they finished off a sweep of the Kansas City T-Bones, 8-3, at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.  The RailCats posted 44 total hits in the three-game series after collecting 14 tonight.

Gary got on the board first with a three-run second inning against Anthony Snow, plating all three on a two-out home run from Rob Marconi.  The T-Bones pulled within one against Drew Dickinson in the fourth with a home run of their own, a two-run shot by Craig Hurba.

The RailCats opened up their lead with a four-run fifth inning, using five hits to push the score to 7-2.  Eric Blakeley drove in the first tally with a sacrifice fly before a three-run home run from Tanner Townsend capped off the frame.  Snow left after a scoreless sixth, allowing seven runs on 11 hits as he fell to 5-4.

After a scoreless inning from Brady Martinez in the seventh, Gary pulled ahead 8-2 in the eighth with a sacrifice fly from John McCarthy off Tag Horner.  Horner allowed three hits and punched out two in the frame.

Dickinson allowed just one more run in his outing on an RBI single by Greg Jacobs that plated John Martin in the eighth.  Martin saw his time on the bases extend earlier in the inning when an error by Blakeley pulled Jay Pecci off the bag at second on a double play attempt.

Dickinson gave way to Jonathan Lewis after the single, allowing three runs, two earned, on seven hits in seven and two-thirds innings to improve to 4-5.  Lewis hit the first batter he faced to load the bases but induced a foul popout from Jim Fasano to end the threat.

Andy Shipman made his T-Bones debut with a perfect ninth, striking out two of the three batters he faced.

Kansas City gets a travel day tomorrow before beginning a three-game set with the Schaumburg Flyers.  Anthony Boughner is scheduled to take the mound for the T-Bones opposite Alex Rollin.  First pitch on Tuesday is set for 7:05.
