KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones lost the second game of their three-game series against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks tonight, 7-2, in front of 5,015 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The RedHawks scored the game’s first run in the contest in the first inning against Anthony Boughner (pictured), using a sacrifice fly from Jimmy Hurst to take a 1-0 lead.  Kansas City tied the score in the bottom of the frame on an RBI groundout by Greg Jacobs, scoring Aharon Eggleston who started the inning with a double.

Boughner held Fargo scoreless after the first until he gave up two runs in the top of the sixth as Fargo gained a 3-1 advantage.  Hurst singled home Carlo Cota for the first run before Jeff Eure plated Ruben Salazar with an RBI groundout.  Boughner then allowed a double and a walk in the seventh before giving way to Tag Horner.  Horner surrendered three hits in the inning as Fargo tallied four more runs to pull ahead by six.

Boughner was charged with five of the seven runs on six hits in six-plus innings as he suffered the loss.  Todd Moser pitched the final two scoreless innings for Kansas City while allowing three hits.

Bakker was stellar in the contest, retiring 16 in-a-row at one point thanks to a pickoff of Neb Brown after a leadoff walk in the fifth inning.  The right-hander walked the leadoff batter in the ninth before inducing a lineout from Ken Harvey.  Adam Rowe entered and surrendered an RBI single by Craig Hurba for the T-Bones final run.

Bakker allowed just two runs on three hits as he improved to 6-2 on the season.  He has now picked up a victory in five consecutive appearances.

Kenny Durost takes the mound tomorrow against a pitcher to be determined for Fargo-Moorhead in the final game of the three-game series.  First pitch scheduled for 7:05.
