KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones earned a doubleheader split tonight against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks as they took the second game, 2-1, in front of 5,356 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The RedHawks picked up their only run in the top of the first inning when leadoff man Joe Mathis singled to start the game.  Mathis moved to second on a single by Carlos Cota before advancing to third on a flyout by Ruben Salazar.  Catcher Alan Rick then singled home Mathis as Fargo took a 1-0 lead off T-Bones starter Anthony Snow (pictured).

Snow earned the win after allowing just the one run on six hits in five and two-thirds innings.  Payton Tweddale relieved Snow in the sixth inning, getting the final out while stranding two runners on base.

Aharon Eggleston led off Kansas City’s first with a double off Broc Coffman and later scored on a single by Ken Harvey to tie the game at one.  The T-Bones scored the deciding run in the bottom of the third on a wild pitch by Coffman that plated Steve Trout from third.

Coffman suffered the loss, allowing two runs on four hits in five innings of work.

David Trahan threw a scoreless seventh for Kansas City to earn his 16th save of the season.

The two teams face off again tomorrow as Anthony Boughner takes the hill for Kansas City against Garry Bakker for the RedHawks.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05.
