Former Kansas City T-Bones outfielder Brad Correll is keeping his dream of becoming a major leaguer alive.  On July 1, the Kansas City Royals signed Correll then sent him to Class A Wilmington in the Carolina League.  This is the second straight season he has been picked up by a major league organization.  Last year, the Boston Red Sox picked up Correll and sent him to Lancaster in the California League where he hit .333 with 23 home runs and 80 RBI.

Correll would have started in the 2008 Northern League All-Star Game as the leading vote getter had he not been signed.  Through 41 games, he was ninth in the league in hitting with a  .341 batting average and led the league with 15 home runs and 49 RBI.  He was behind one pace to hit 35 home runs and bat in 114 runs, both of which would have set Northern League records.  Having not played since June 29^th, Correll still leads the league in home runs and slugging percentage (.707).  Correll is among league leaders being third in extra-base hits (30), and second in RBI. 

Correll continues to swing a hot bat with the Wilmington Blue Rocks.  In 14 games, with the Blue Rocks, Correll has hit .333 with two home runs and five batted in.  Defensively, Correll continues to split time between first base and designated hitter.  After a 2-for-15 start, Correll has settled down and hit safely in his last 10 games.  During the streak, he has batted .416, hit two home runs and four RBI.
