KANSAS CITY, Kan. – In front of 6,020 fans tonight, the Kansas City T-Bones defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes 6-3 as they improved to 28-26 on the season.

Kenny Durost held the Goldeyes scoreless with a perfect first inning before his offense collected four straight hits off Bear Bay, scoring three runs to take an early lead.  The first two tallies came on a single by Jim Fasano and the third when an infield popup from Craig Hurba fell in fair territory for a single, plating Fasano.

Kansas City added two more runs in the fifth on a home run by Greg Jacobs (pictured) to push the score to 5-0.  It was Jacobs' first home run since rejoining Kansas City.

Durost gave way to Brady Martinez in the seventh, leaving after allowing just four hits over six shutout innings.  He punched out nine batters on his way to his fourth win of the season.  Martinez allowed the first three batters to reach, including an RBI single from Fehlandt Lentini for the Goldeyes first run of the game.  An RBI groundout by Antoin Gray and RBI triple by Tydus Meadows plated two more as Winnipeg pulled within two.

The T-Bones added an insurance run in the bottom of the frame on an RBI fielder’s choice by Fasano, extending their lead to 6-3.

Todd Moser got the final out of the seventh and threw a perfect eighth in his debut for Kansas City.  David Trahan threw a perfect ninth, securing his league-leading 14th save of the season.

Anthony Snow will take the mound for the Kansas City against Aaron Jackson for the Goldeyes in the final game of a four-game set tomorrow morning in the final day game of the season.  First pitch is scheduled for 11:05.
