KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones and manager Andy McCauley have signed outfielder Greg Jacobs.  Jacobs was a member of the T-Bones in 2005 and 2006, hitting a combined .340 with 25 home runs and 107 RBI in 154 games.  Following the 2006 season, he was signed by the Philadelphia Phillies and spent the ’07 season playing for Reading in the Eastern League.  He hit .310 with 21 home runs and 83 RBI for the Phillies Class AA affiliate.

He finished the year fifth in the league in batting average, third in total bases with 249, first in slugging percentage at .539, fifth in games playing at 133, third in extra-base hits with 62 and first in the league with 39 doubles.

“With Brad Correll getting picked up we needed some extra offense in the middle of our lineup,” said McCauley.  “He’s without a doubt one of the best hitters in the league.  He’s played here before and he’ll be a good guy to have in the clubhouse.  Jacobs plays the game hard and we’re happy to have him back here in Kansas City.”

Jacobs signed this past offseason with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Dodgers placed him in Double-A Jacksonville where he hit .276 with four home runs and 29 RBI earning him a promotion to Triple-A Las Vegas.  With the 51’s he hit .346 in 15 games with two RBI before getting released.

Jacobs is expected to be in the lineup Tuesday night against the Winnipeg Goldeyes.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
