T-Bones All-Star Named Northern League Player of the Week

07/09/2008 10:00 AM -

For the second time this season T-Bones first baseman Jim Fasano has received Northern League Player of the Week honors.  Fasano, who was given the same award on May 26, hit .591 from June 30 - July 6 going 13-for-22.  He tacked on three home runs, a pair of doubles and tallied eight RBI.  He slugged 1.091 for the week and had an on-base percentage of .679.  The 6-5 230-pound left handed hitter had four multi-hit games over the stretch giving him 17 on the season.

Currently, Fasano sits as the leader in RBI, with 50, and extra-base hits, with 30.  His 13 home runs are good for second in the league and his .604 slugging percentage is fourth best.  Fasano recently played in the Northern League All-Star Game in Winnipeg, MB where he went three-for-four with a double.

Fasano, 24, was signed in the off-season by the T-Bones after spending the first four seasons of his career in the Texas Rangers system after being their ninth-round pick in 2004.  This marks the fifth time this season that a T-Bones player has received a weekly honor from the league.
