KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones won the rubber-match of their three-game series against the Schaumburg Flyers, 15-8, in front of 5,069 fans tonight at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The T-Bones scored first in the contest off Schaumburg pitcher Steve Shippey when Rob Watson drove in Aharon Eggleston with a triple and came home on an error by Shippey.  The Flyers responded in the top of the second with an RBI double by Dan Maycock and RBI single from Hank Lanto to tie the game at two.

Kansas City answered back in the bottom of the frame with a two-run single from Eggleston to retake the lead, 4-2.  T-Bones starting pitcher Zac Stott allowed four runs, two earned, on three hits in the third inning as the Flyers jumped ahead by two.  Stott left after three innings, allowing six runs, four earned, on six hits in the no-decision.

The Flyers got their final two runs in the fifth off Rick Hummel, the first on an RBI double by Peanut Williams, who later scored on a wild pitch to give Schaumburg an 8-4 advantage.

Kansas City pulled within two in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run home run from Kevin Mahar (pictured), his eighth of the season.  Shippey left after getting the first batter he faced in the sixth, allowing six runs on 10 hits in a no-decision.

After finishing off a perfect sixth inning, Justin Robinson surrendered an RBI double to Mahar and two-run home run to Pat Magness as Kansas City took a 9-8 lead in the seventh.  Magness was signed prior to the game and finished two-for-four with a home run and two RBI.  Robinson fell to 0-1 after allowing three runs on three hits in an inning of work.

The T-Bones capped off their scoring with a six-run eighth, including a grand slam from Mahar, his second home run of the game.  He finished four-for-five with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI, setting a new team record for RBI in a contest.

Anthony Snow threw two scoreless innings of relief for Kansas City before giving way to Brady Martinez with one out in the seventh.  Martinez improved to 2-1 after getting the final two outs in a scoreless seventh.

Payton Tweddale and David Trahan combined to throw scoreless eighth and ninth innings to close out the victory.

The T-Bones head into the break 24-23 before heading to Gary for a three-game set against the RailCats.  First pitch of game one on Thursday is set for 7:00.
