Northern League Announces Seven T-Bones Named All-Stars07/02/2008 10:56 AM - The Northern League of Professional Baseball has announced that seven T-Bones have been selected to play in the 2008 All-Star Game in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Four of those seven have been voted in as starters for the mid-summer classic.
Second baseman Rob Watson, outfielder Brad Correll, outfielder Aharon Eggleston and Jim Fasano were all voted in as starters. Correll was the league's leading vote getter but is unable to attend due to getting signed by the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. Fasano has been the T-Bones primary first baseman this season but will be in the lineup as a designated hitter. This is the second straight season that Eggleston has been named a starting outfielder in the NL All-Star Game.
The T-Bones will also be sending three pitchers to Winnipeg. Right-handed starter Kenny Durost, left-handed reliever Tag Horner and right-handed closer David Trahan will help make up the pitching staff.
The game will feature the Chicagoland All-Stars, consisting of players from Gary, Joliet and Schaumburg, against the I-29 All-Stars, a team compiled of players from Fargo-Moorhead, Kansas City and Winnipeg. The rosters were set based on voting from the league's managers, radio broadcasters, local media and veteran players. The game will be played on July 8 at Canwest Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Listed below are the stats for all T-Bones players selected to play in the all-star game at the time of their selection.
