FARGO, N.D. – The Kansas City T-Bones rode a two home run game from Jim Fasano (pictured), his second in as many contests, to open July with a 15-9 win over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks at Newman Outdoor Field.

The T-Bones took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a home run from Fasano off Fargo starter Todd George, who made his first appearance of the season after opening the campaign on the inactive list.  The RedHawks responded with four runs in their half of the frame, three coming on a home run by Ruben Salazar off Zac Stott.  They added two more runs in the second on an RBI double by Salazar and RBI single by David Castillo to take a 6-2 lead after two.

Kansas City used two home runs in the third, a three-run shot from Fasano and solo blast from Aharon Eggleston, to tie the game at six.  George left after three innings, allowing six runs on seven hits in his outing.

Stott threw a perfect bottom of the third for Kansas City before the T-Bones took their only lead of the game with a three-run fourth against reliever Brett Lawson, plating the first two runs on a single by Rob Watson.  Watson later stole third and scored on a throwing error by catcher Alan Rick.  Lawson got just one out in the inning, suffering the loss after allowing three runs on one hit and three walks.

Fargo got two more runs in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI groundout by Salazar and solo home run from Rick to pull within one, 9-8.  Stott left after four innings, allowing eight runs on 10 hits in a no-decision.

Bobby Carrington entered for Kansas City in the fifth, surrendering two walks in a scoreless frame before retiring the final eight batters he faced.  He picked up his first professional victory in the contest, allowing just the two baserunners over three and one-thirds scoreless innings.

Kansas City added three runs in the sixth on a wild pitch by Donnie Smith and a two-run single from Kevin Mahar.  The T-Bones plated their final three tallies in the seventh off David Morgan on two hits and three walks, two intentional, to push their final total to 15.

The RedHawks scored their final run in the ninth with an RBI double by Castillo off Payton Tweddale, pushing the final score to 15-9.  Tweddale allowed one run on two hits in his debut for Kansas City.

Fasano finished the contest four-for-four with two home runs, two walks, five RBI and four runs scored.  He reached safely in all six plate appearances on the night.

The two teams face off again tomorrow as the T-Bones send Anthony Snow to face Billy Weitzman of Fargo.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:00.
