KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones lost the second game of their three-game series against the Joliet JackHammers tonight, 7-6, in front of 8,322 fans at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

The T-Bones scored first against David Moraga in the bottom of the first, plating the first two runs on back-to-back RBI singles from Jim Fasano and Ken Harvey before a two-run double from John Martin (pictured) capped off the scoring.

The JackHammers responded in the top of the second, scoring one off T-Bones starter Rick Rivas on an RBI single by Nick Prosise to put the score at 4-1.  Joliet then cut the lead in half in the third when Nick McIntyre scored on a wild pitch by Rivas.

The JackHammers scored their last five runs in the top of the fifth, getting the first on an RBI single from Mike Caruso before a three-run double from Joey Gomes gave them the lead.  A sacrifice fly from Wally Backman, Jr. capped off the scoring as Joliet left the top of the fifth with a 7-4 lead.

Rivas fell to 2-3 after going four and one-third innings, giving up seven runs on eight hits while walking five and striking out one.  Moraga threw five and two-thirds innings for the JackHammers, giving up four runs on ten hits as he improved to 4-1.

Brady Martinez relieved Rivas in the fourth and pitched two and two-thirds scoreless innings, striking out four and walking two.  Tag Horner faced two batters in the top of the eighth, striking out Caruso before allowing a single to McIntyre.  Rick Hummel finished the game, retiring all five of the batters he faced.

The T-Bones tried to rally in the ninth, scoring two runs on a two-out double by Martin.  However, it was not enough as Tyler Meigs recorded his second save for the JackHammers.

The T-Bones threatened in both the fourth and eighth innings, loading the bases each time without scoring.  They left a total of twelve runners on base in the contest.

The two teams face off in the rubber match tomorrow as Anthony Boughner takes the hill for the T-Bones against Aaron Trolia of the Jackhammers.  First pitch scheduled for 5:05.
