FARGO, N.D. – Despite over three hours worth of rain delays in tonight’s contest, the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks picked up where they left off last night against the Kansas City T-Bones as they coasted to a 16-3 victory at Newman Outdoor Field in Fargo, N.D.

After a one-hour delay prior to the first pitch of the contest, Brett Lawson held the T-Bones scoreless before his offense took a 1-0 lead against Anthony Snow on an RBI single by Alan Rick in the first.  Kansas City responded in the second with an RBI groundout from John Martin, but Fargo retook the lead with three more in their half of the inning to gain a 4-1 advantage.

The rains came following the second inning and stayed for two hours and eight minutes.  When the teams retook the field for the third inning, Lawson remained in the contest while Snow left in favor of Rick Hummel.  Snow allowed four runs on five hits in his two innings as he fell to 0-1.

The T-Bones loaded the bases off Lawson in the third, but a flyout from Aharon Eggleston (pictured) ended the threat.  Fargo picked up three more in the bottom of the frame, using a two-run double from Carlo Cota and a sacrifice fly by Dan Maycock to pull ahead by six.

Hummel surrendered four more in the fourth on three hits and one error before giving way to Alexy Still.  Hummel left after one and one-thirds innings of work having allowed seven runs, five earned, on five hits.  The RedHawks plated five more runs on four hits in the fifth, four coming off Still as they took a 16-1 lead.  Still allowed four runs on two hits and four walks in his inning of work.

Brady Martinez surrendered the fifth Fargo run in the fifth on an RBI single from Maycock before retiring the final 10 batters consecutively with the help of a double play in the seventh.

Lawson lasted six innings in the contest, allowing just the one run on three hits as he improved to 3-0 on the season.

Kansas City plated two runs on four hits off Jake Laber in the eighth, getting RBI singles from Eggleston and Steve Trout to push the score to 16-3.  Laber pitched the final three innings for Fargo to earn his first career save.

Eggleston took part in all three Kansas City runs, scoring twice and driving in one.

The two teams face off in the finale of their five-game series tomorrow as Rick Rivas takes the hill for Kansas City opposite Adam Rowe of the RedHawks.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:00.
