Former Major League All-Star Ken Harvey Joins T-Bones

06/11/2008 8:00 AM - KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones of the independent Northern League have announced the signing of former major league All-Star Ken Harvey.  Harvey will be available to play beginning Wednesday as the T-Bones open a five-game series with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in Fargo, N.D.
 
Harvey played in 271 major league games with the Kansas City Royals from 2001 to 2005.  He is a career .274 hitter at the major league level with 27 home runs, including a career-high 13 each in 2003 and 2004.  He has also compiled 126 RBI throughout his big league career.
 
For his minor league career, beginning in 1999, he has posted a .327 average with 52 home runs and 126 RBI.  Last season he spent five games with the Twins Class AAA team in Rochester.  He hit .235 with one home run during that span.
 
Harvey was named to the All-Star team as the Royals lone representative in 2004.  He was hitting .305 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI at the break.
