KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones snapped a five-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory over the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks tonight in front of 8,575 at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.  It was the biggest crowd of the season and fourth-largest of all-time.

Kenny Durost (pictured) of Kansas City and Garry Bakker of the RedHawks matched zeros for seven innings before the T-Bones finally broke through for the game’s lone run in the eighth.

The RedHawks didn’t get a runner on base until Boomer Berry doubled with one out in the fourth inning.  Durost struck out the side in the first and six of the first nine batters he faced.  He picked up the victory after going eight shutout innings, surrendering just three hits while striking out nine and walking three.

Bakker allowed just three hits while walking four and striking out three over six and two-thirds scoreless innings.  He would not factor into the decision.

Scott Koerber entered with two on in the seventh and struck out John Martin to end the threat.  He then got two quick outs in the eighth before Rob Watson blasted his fourth home run of the season to give the game its only run.  Koerber fell to 2-2 on the campaign.

David Trahan struck out two of the three batters he faced in a perfect ninth to pick up his league-leading seventh save.  The win put Kansas City a half-game ahead of the RedHawks for sole possession of first place.

The two teams prepare for the rubber match tomorrow as Mark Michael takes the mound for Kansas City versus Brett Lawson of Fargo.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:05.
