KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Kansas City T-Bones lost the second game of their three-game series against the Winnipeg Goldeyes tonight at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, 20-11.  After going five-for-five with two home runs, a walk and four RBI, Rob Watson (pictured) has reached safely in 10 consecutive plate appearances.

With 4,066 fans on hand, the first seven Winnipeg batters of the game reached safely against Reid Hamblet before he induced a groundout from Max Poulin for the first out of the contest.  The Goldeyes plated eight runs on seven hits and two errors in the frame, taking an 8-0 lead before Kansas City went to bat.  Hamblet took the loss after allowing eight runs, seven earned, on seven hits in one-third of an inning.

Watson and Kevin Mahar both hit home runs off Ace Walker in the bottom of the first to pull the T-Bones within five.  Walker surrendered two more in the third, leaving the game after allowing five runs on five hits in two and one-thirds innings.  He would not factor into the decision.

Kansas City added a single run off Dustin Pease in the fourth and each team scored in the fifth to push the score to 9-7.  Pease allowed both T-Bones runs, leaving after three and one-thirds innings after surrendering seven hits in three and one-thirds innings to pick up his first win of the season.

Alexy Still threw three and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief for Hamblet, allowing just one hit in that span.  Brady Martinez entered for Still in the fifth and allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits in one and two-thirds innings.  Tydus Meadows drove in one of those three runs with a home run to lead off the sixth.

Rick Hummel got the final out in the sixth before surrendering five runs on three hits in the seventh as the Goldeyes opened up a 16-7 advantage.  Two of those runs came on a home run from Colin Roberson, his first of two in the contest.  The T-Bones responded with two in the bottom of the frame on Watson’s second home run of the game to push the score to 16-9.

Chris Rhoads pitched the final two innings for Kansas City, throwing a scoreless eighth before allowing four runs on four hits in the ninth.  Antoin Gray homered with one out and Roberson hit his second of the game, a three-run shot to cap off the Goldeyes scoring.

The T-Bones added single runs in the eighth and ninth to finish off the record-breaking outburst.  Roberson finished the game three-for-six with seven RBI to pace Winnipeg.  Watson and Mahar each finished with four RBI for Kansas City.

The two teams face off again tomorrow morning as Rick Rivas looks to avoid the sweep for Kansas City, taking the hill against Zach Baldwin for Winnipeg.  First pitch is scheduled for 11:05.

Game Notes:  Kansas City tied a team record for errors in a game with seven…The game lasted three hours and 47 minutes, falling five minutes shy of tying a T-Bones record for longest nine-inning game…Kansas City also set records for runs allowed with 20 and tied their record for earned runs allowed at 17…The 31 combined runs set a new T-Bones record for total runs in a contest.
